Giveaway- Fitbit One

This weekend wound up being pretty busy with family fun, although I have yet to perfect the art of taking awkward blog photos at every opportunity. I guess you learn how to make it work, when you want people to follow along with your adventures.

I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get in my long run, thus making my total mileage a little lower than I had hoped. 25 for the week, with 7, 6, 7, 6 every other day.  I’m going to throw a party when I get in the perfect training week, because I don’t think I’ve ever accomplished that, in my years of running.

As you all know, I’m desperately trying to 1. BQ and 2. lose weight. No matter what I do, I can never get myself to move out of the same 3 pound range.  I know that losing weight is not necessary for my health or wellness. Science just simply states that the less you weigh (within reason) the faster you go. In order to give myself a little jolt in the butt, I’m signing up for Dietbet that Jess over at Blonde Ponytail is hosting for the month of february.

In this game, all you have to do is lose 4% of your body weight. That’s it.  The catch? You bet $25 that you will be able to complete the challenge. Everyone that is able to do so, splits the pot after the 30 days is up. Simple as that.  Want to join the game that Jess started?  Click me here!, or, try to set one up with your friends.  I have about 5 lbs to lose, but you have no idea how hard that is going to be.
Interested in losing weight on your own and realize that you’re going to need a boost?
In order to help you better your chances, I’m going to host a GIVEAWAY!!
That’s right..you heard me. I’m going to help you improve your weight loss chances by hosting a giveaway.  The winner gets their very own Fitbit One. No questions asked.

  1. My favorite way to exercise is hiking in the mountains, because it not only makes me a healthier person physically, but being in the mountains also speaks to my spirit more than any other place. 🙂

  2. I have been going to the gym and walking on the treadmill and doing a full circuit with the weights. I am planning on running this spring outdoors. Working out and eating healthy plus drinking lots of water makes me feel wonderful.

  3. I run, and then run some more… That said I did go for a cycle this weekend…

If you want to loose weight, try running harder (without eating more) and more!
    Or try cutting out Carbs!!!

    Good luck

  4. Sweet giveaway! I”m a huge Bar Method addict, and a sometimes runner. I find the Bar Method give me great strength training to keep my legs in top form for running.

  5. I hate exercise. I don't know how you're my daughter. Maybe the gypsies kidnapped you and left you on my doorstep. I snowshoe. And I ride my bike when it's nice out. And I walk/run but I curse the whole time I'm doing it. But you are inspiring me to do it better and more. Dad and I had a great time visiting you too 🙂 And, he LOVES the FitBit you got him for Christmas!! Don't enter me in to win- I just wanted to write to tell you I had fun this weekend ❤

  6. Ooh, very cool, would love to try one of these to see if it encourages me to be more active. I love walking/ hiking when the weather is nice, otherwise I stick with weight training in the gym and practically have to be dragged to the cardio machines 😉

  7. Thanks so much for sharing the Dietbet Lauren!! I have wanted to try the FitBit for some time and would love to see how my activity over the day adds up! My favorite form of exercise (as you probably know) is a HIIT/CrossFit style workout! INTENSITY!! 🙂

  8. I love taking long walks off the path. Being alone with my thoughts helps me reset and stay positive. I am trying to reach my goal of 10k steps each day this year and would love a tracker that was more than the basic step counter that I have now. I have wondered about my calories burned and also about how I am sleeping. Thank you so much for having this giveaway. #sweatpink ♥

  9. My favourite form of exercise is cross-country skiing. Not only is it a really good workout, but it feels like fun rather than work and gets me out of the house in the winter.

  10. My favorite form of exercise is doing something outdoors. I love walks, bike riding, but I usually end up working out in the workout room, on the treadmill. I also love yoga, and pilates.

  11. I'm a distance runner, but right now I'm focusing on getting strong since I am still in a walking cast from my ankle reconstruction!

Just discovered your blog – love it! Thanks for posting.

  12. I hate running.

I just finished my first half marathon a few weeks ago… In Disney, to boot! And I got engaged a couple days before!

What makes me happy and feel healthy?

Setting goals, and reaching them. It always seems impossible until it's done.

But I still hate running. 😀

  13. I am wrapping up my 5th month of doing Crossfit 3x a week. Not only am I seeing progress in my lifting/speed/stamina in my workouts, but I am better at things in daily life (like lifting heavy things – yay deadlifts!).

Since starting Crossfit, I have gone hiking, kayaking and biking – with out any soreness.

I feel better and am regaining an active lifestyle. I am sad that it took me this long to make this amazing change in my life!
